Nursing Unit Council

In our ongoing effort to improve the level of care provided and improve staff satisfaction, UM Charles Regional Medical Center utilizes individual Unit Councils as a part of the hospital-wide performance improvement plan. The individual unit councils work in a manner, which continually encourages them to strive to guide the hospital towards the highest levels of nursing practice. The unit councils engage the front-line nursing staff in a way that places the council members in a place where they can make the biggest impact for a “culture of change”. Through the unit council, the hospital engages clinical nursing staff and support input and shared decision making in clinical unit operations, clinical practice, quality and patient safety.
